Designing space station race for my own project on Trackmania2020.
I imagined a space base lost in an asteroids cloud in the middle of space. The base is inspired by the Grim-Hex space station from Star Citizen.
I divided the map into 2 parts:
- The first part in green, groups the asteroids with interior space. The main one is located in the middle of the eastern map and crossed by a hole, it brings together several floors. The second has only one floor and is located further to the edge of the map.
- The second zone in blue brings together the entire exterior platformer part of the map. We ride on pipes, landing zones and also asteroids.

My goal was to have an industrial world, in which we find pumps and pipes almost everywhere. As well as vapors escaping due to leaks.
I started by doing a first decoration test on the beginning of the map to have a sample and be able to replicate it on the rest. Once this step was done I continued the route in stages, to move forward with the decoration of the parts of the already made roads. Once the road and the first outline of decoration were made, I polished all the passages.
The race has very little decoration due to the 4MB 3D asset limit with Trackmania.
